Blakeley Raise Stone Circle

"On the surface of it a fairly typical Cumbrian Bronze Age stone circle but the story of the circle and even the stones themselves is rather murky.

Sometime in the 18th century a local farmer is said to have dismantled some or all of a stone circle on land owned by 'Standing Stones' farm and reused them as gateposts. The farm is shown on both old and modern maps as standing just over a mile (1km) almost due south.

The current stone circle was 'restored' in 1925 by a Dr Quine with the stones being set in concrete - how accurate the reconstruction was is not known"

Forest Exploring

Playing with the new DJI Osmo 360 in our local forest, coupled with our DJI Flip

So far impressed, will take me a while to get hang of fully but nothing like practice.

Quality of images is very good, relatively easy to use though many options I need to explore as yet.

Light enough to use easily on long selfie (was a serious issue with way my neck and back are damaged), and as standard 1/4" mount screw, tripods, mounts etc are cheap to pick up.

Not tested in water as yet, figure muddy stream wasn't best first test so will get by the lakes soon 😁

Be warned, using in 8k or 6k will result in some SERIOUS file sizes, have storage ready 😆
