CW: mention of suicides
Of the male friends I've lost in my adult life, well before their time:
- Two to cancer
- One to medical error
- One to an undetected cardiopulmonary condition
- Two to suicide
I think about this whenever I see people on social media mocking men for expressing their feelings, however imprecisely or awkwardly they do so. Ironically, these same people also often can be found bemoaning "toxic masculinity" or complaining that men don't express their feelings enough.
But look at what some of you jackasses do whenever they DO express themselves: you immediately belittle or mock them, veto their expression of feelings, and play into the very "toxic" themes you claim to oppose.
