Sigh.
Almost an hour later, I’ve decided to give up trying for now.
Sometimes a coffee and catching up here is enough to allow me to get back to sleep in the morning.

Sigh.
Disturbed sleep/difficulty getting to sleep the last few nights.
It’s 04:15 and I’ve been awake for an hour and a half, and it doesn’t feel like I’m about to go back to sleep.
Same thing last night (both nights slow release melatonin helped me to get to sleep, but then I wake up in the middle of the night) – and the night before that I lay in bed from about 22:00 till after 03:00 trying to get to sleep and failing miserably.
Listening to relaxing music – or otherwise non-relaxing music which I’ve fallen asleep to for decades – hasn’t been helping.
Tonight’s middle-of-the-night fixation is “AI” (LLMs, really) in my highly regulated/highly technical industry, sustainability issues, deskilling, etc.
At least I now have a few hundred words worth of points I want to cover jotted down for the work blog post I’ve been meaning to write for a few months.
I’d rather be dreaming, though.

I finally got to try Unsettled, a board game I got a while ago. I liked it. It’s a little complex, so we of course got a number of things wrong. But it’s got a neat premise and was fun.
It’s a cooperative game that focuses on science and exploration on an uncharted planet. The base game comes with two planets and each planet comes with three scenarios. There are seven additional planets you can get as expansions.
I look forward to exploring more.

We played our first game of #unsettled today. The box is gorgeous and it was well received in our group. Sadly we had to stop and try again next week, because lack of sleep, public transport and quite some time reading the rules and setting up didn't leave us enough time to finish. But we will try again with the fungi on wenora 😁
Packing everything back into the box is really satisfying -
About a year later than expected IIRC, #unsettled finally came in. 🎉 And I fear it will be weeks before we can test it 😭 Haven't opened anything, but that will be fun as well ☺️
