Guess they've gone somewhat out of fashion, but we're sitting after our walk now with some eggnog, dark fruitcake, and moar #shortbread.
On the #fruitcake front, I've found a good easy cheat is to skip the making-it-from-scratch thing, and buy a supermarket one, then wrap it in plastic wrap and drizzle brandy or rum over it for a week or two.
The result is super rich and tasty. Reminds me of my mother's scratch made fruitcake.
