Ryzyko to jest ograniczane przez podnoszenie świadomości użytkowników, a także poprzez odpowiednie polityki / praktyki abonentów domen. W zabezpieczenia antyphishingowe wyposażone są współcześnie przeglądarki a także systemy pocztowe (np. SPF, DKIM, DMARC). Spam filtrowany jest coraz skuteczniej.
Korzystanie z domen międzynarodowych jest od kilkunastu lat możliwe i uregulowane. Rozwiązania są w obrocie od kilkunastu lat ( #punycode ). Nie są na razie powszechniej wykorzystywane. Paradoksem jest, że więcej o nich wiedzą i niecnie próbują wykorzystywać scammerzy niż normalni użytkownicy. Stąd potrzeba upowszechnienia wiedzy na ten temat.
Większym wyzwaniem pozostaje email, bo wymaga to dostosowania wszystkich elementów systemu. Prace trwają, ale wolno. Stąd działanie UASG.
IMHO korzyści z #UniversalAcceptance są wielkie dla miliardów użytkowników i warte zastosowania dla ich wygody, a nie tylko ze względu na szacunek dla wielojęzyczności.

Universal Acceptance [2/2]
Universal Acceptance (UA) to zasada, że każda nazwa domeny oraz każdy adres e-mail powinien być przyjmowany we wszystkich aplikacjach bez względu na alfabet, w jakim zostały zapisane.
W 2015 r. ICANN utworzył Universal Acceptance Steering Group (UASG) https://uasg.tech , która wypracowała program wspierający przyjmowanie zasad Universal Acceptance przez przemysł IT.
Jest to projekt szeroko zakrojony i skomplikowany; dotyczy właściwie każdego obszaru korzystania z komputerów i Internetu. Głównym problemem jest włączenie alfabetów niełacińskich.
Dopuszczenie znaków diakrytycznych alfabetu łacińskiego jest w tym kontekście sprawą prostszą.
Sprawa wymaga zainteresowania nie tylko specjalistów, ale i zwykłych użytkowników technologii informatycznych.
Zacznijmy wreszcie chcieć korzystać z języka polskiego także w adresach poczty elektronicznej i stronach internetowych! Już czas!

Ta kwestia interesuje każdego użytkownika Internetu.
Kiedy będziemy korzystać z Internetu w pełni po polsku?
Kiedy wreszcie [email protected] stanie się żółw@przykład.pl ? Ile można czekać?Powszechnie i często korzystamy z e-maila. Adresy z małpą @ od bez mała 40 lat kojarzą się z komputerami i Internetem. Bez adresu poczty elektronicznej trudno zapisać się do lub korzystać z jakiegokolwiek serwisu. Podobnie, nazwy domen internetowych pozwalają zidentyfikować i odnaleźć stronę internetową lub usługę sieciową.
Pomimo burzliwego rozwoju Internetu i dynamicznego wzrostu liczby użytkowników – dla większości z nich angielski nie jest już pierwszym językiem – adresy domen oraz e-mail nadal wymagają głównie pisma łacińskiego ograniczonego do zestawu znaków ASCII – nie zawierają one polskich i innych liter zawierających znaki diakrytyczne.
Rozwój IT, w tym wypracowanie standardu Unicode, a w szczególności system kodowania UTF–8, rozpowszechnił korzystanie ze znaków narodowych. Od dawna piszemy maile z polskimi znakami, zazwyczaj sprawdzają się one także w polu tytułu e-maila. Nie dotyczy to jednak adresów.
Powolny rozwój z tym zakresie umożliwił stopniowo od lat 2000 korzystanie z międzynarodowych nazw domen (IDN) mogących zawierać diakrytyczne znaki pisma łacińskiego a od 2010 także znaki alfabetów niełacińskich.
W 2012 r. IETF zatwierdziło standard RFC 6530 przedstawiający założenia i ramy międzynarodowych adresów poczty elektronicznej (Email Address Internationalisation - EAI).
Nadal jednak nie możemy powszechnie korzystać z tych rozwiązań. Jednym z powodów jest brak świadomości interesariuszy i zbyt wolna aktualizacja oprogramowania usług i systemów.
