P.S. It has just been announced that 261 United Methodist congregations in north Georgia — in that little pocket of the world alone — have left the UMC because they will not, absolutely refuse to, welcome and include LGBTQ people in their church.
Imagine thinking that just any old body should be welcome in a Christian church! The very idea!

When our local #UnitedMethodist church announced it was #disaffiliating from the #UMC, I thought that was one of the worst spiritual things I’d ever been through. (Clyde and I, and our families, and people like us, were essentially cast out of a local church our family had founded and nurtured for generations.)
And now, being a part of a small “church plant” — a home church, just starting up — is one of the best spiritual things I’ve ever experienced. Go figure.

Ramirez report the results of interviews they conducted with more than 1,500 LGBTQ United Methodists about why they continue with the UMC, when it teaches officially that “homosexual practice” is “incompatible with Christian teaching” and when powerful forces within the UMC are pushing UMC churches that refuse to accept the full equality of LGBTQ human beings to split the UMC over this issue.

Sticker sadly seen this morning, on a pickup truck in the parking lot of my (mostly) progressive United Methodist Church.
I get that not all of us have the same politics nor support the same candidates. But what's the point of having an anti-Biden sticker this mean, demeaning all his voters too?
What sucks even more is that on weekdays, this lot is where most staff, volunteers, and Bible study participants park. Or at least "church regulars".
So much for someone participating in our ongoing #LoveYourNeighbor campaign.
