A unitarian universalist congregation might be what you're looking for. Many of them a godless, though they do have the usual structure of some person up in front making a speech, usually trying to be uplifting or semi-spiritual in nature. Depending on where you are there might not be a lot of choice, if in New England there are a lot of congregations and you can check them out and find one you like. Ours in Sharon MA is areligious and liberal social justice oriented. Some ministers are believers and this ends up in their sermons. YMMV. Good luck.

So a real treat at church this morning... Jim Scott, an amazing musician, songwriter, and all-around good human (and pretty ardent UU) did most of our service this morning.
He wrote Gather The Spirit, a favorite of many from the "old" hymnal (photo), and wrote 5-6 songs that are in the new hymnal.
He's played with a lot of great musicians. And he's passionate about peace, justice, and the climate crisis.
It was a good morning.

2. Such interesting people and the stories of their spiritual path at the Path to Membership meeting today.
3. While making the decision to move Alyssa back to MA was hard, and then my decision to move back to CA, it was the right thing. Her sister is excellent at managing her care at this stage of the disease.

Okay, I’m considering converting to Unitarian Universalism—because I believe technical progress should be guided by ethics, not profit.
I see enshitification—the degradation of technology into exploitative tools—as a moral failure. Progress should serve humanity, not degrade it.

Yesterday the U.S. Department of Defense or whatever they call it now decided that my religion isn't a possible religion, along with a lot of other people's religions. I'm a UU. This won't have an impact on my personal daily life, but as a member of a minority group religion, I definitely do notice it. I normally try not to mention religion on social media, but I don't see my own students on Mastodon, so I guess it's OK. Here I am, and I'm still a UU. #UU #UnitarianUniversalism #religion

When “Streamlining” Means Erasing: Pagans in Uniform Deserve Better
The Department of Defense says it is streamlining religious-affiliation codes, but for Pagan, Wiccan, Druid, Heathen, Humanist, Atheist, and other minority-belief service members, that “streamlining” looks a lot like disappearance. Religious liberty is not measured by how comfortably the majority is served. It is measured by whether minority faiths can be named, counted, and respected. -

Thankful to finally return to the #EarthDay service at my #UU congregation after two weeks away, even if I am finding myself still a little slow. Started the morning with some wonderful #uke practice where I actually a) had enough voice to sing all 4 songs and b) actually got most of the chords right. Things are definitely looking up more than they were.

The next 4 years will be rough for non-believers. In LA County there are a few UU locations, but two other groups I highly recommend is Atheists United and Sunday Assembly LA. They each have a bit of a different vibe which could be good for those who have religious trauma in their personal history. One of these groups may fit your vibe better than the others. My denomination, Unitarian Universalism, just democratically voted to update our statement of beliefs, values, and sources of revelation. Unitarian Universalism is a living tradition with no dogma or creed; we do not believe revelation is sealed or stagnant. While the new statement may seem radically different from our prior principles and sources, the truth is it builds on the foundation of what came before. At our core, we are a religion that existentially and ontologically believes transcendental Love is the ground of our being, and that no living being is left behind in this Love.
