The "Code Evolution" chapter is especially interesting. It's not quite the same as #Unison, but has a similar design intent of being able to program "in the large", building out a universe of code rather than just thinking file-by-file.
They appear to have thought quite deeply about how to design the language to allow for package evolution while preserving compatibility -- I don't think I've ever seen quite such a focus at the language level before. Quite neat!

Allerdings habe ich im Alltag damit auch so manche Probleme, mitunter weigert sich Syncthing einfach, ein Verzeichnis zu synchronisieren. Und auch Versionskonflikte kommen vor.
Darum teste ich jetzt für die Synchronisation zwischen Computern (Laptop zu Laptop, Laptop zu PC) Unison. Einen Peer-to-Peer-Ansatz benötige ich nicht, der Server hier im Haus läuft durch. Bis jetzt bin ich ganz angetan von #Unison. Mal sehen, wie sich die Software im Langzeittest schlägt.

I only have to start the sync manually via terminal, which actually is ok.
Because my wife uses only her smartphone, I can sync weekly my digital heritage (all the important files in #cryptomator) to her phone.
This way she has all the stuff she needs in case a an accident or death.#linux or #foss is so great, because you find easy and family friendly solutions without the cloud

I never used #unison, but it's one of my most favorite programming languages. Content-addressable code, algebraic effects and a bunch of other cool tech.
