I take your point. Perhaps my criticism is stemming from being a long time #unionist despairing at the loss of membership and coverage over the decades, the apparent passivity (due to msm non-reporting) and lack of visible action. I am still a union member, though retired, and until recently a Labor party member as well (I’ve lost faith in that organisation). The only time I hear of union action is through emailed CPSU newsletters. -

Along with so many others, I will never advocate for a #UnitedIreland. I would take ten refugees any day over one of these boneheads behind this act of barbaric rascim. They are not and never will be Irish and our country has enough problems without having to accept or accommodate this lot.
It's simply not worth it.

They've forgotten how to be #objective, which is the touchstone of good reporting. They have forgotten that #truth is the business they're supposed to be in.

A must read if you have been even a little interested in Catalonia independence. The final chapter on the last referendum is required reading to know what is going on including with the defeat of the amnesty bill this week!

Then I can't see the #DUP ever attracting any new voters especially the younger ones. They aren't capable of changing to make them more attractive. Doug may be trying to change the #UUP but the traditionalists in his party won't accept they need to change either.
So it NI will continue to move away from the Unionist parties towards SF/Alliance which you can argue - are looking good when compared to the #Unionist parties.
Something needs to change in #NI

Are the #DUP ready to face the electorate again, so soon after the local elections, that saw the #Unionist population not turn out to vote.
Also is #Jeff prepared to lose possibly 4 seats at WM to Sinn Féin & Alliance?
He needs #Stormont back and soon. It is the only place they have power if it isn't reformed.

It wasn't all voters that were disengaged last week in #NI elections. Our turn out for the Local Election was slightly up.
It was #Unionist voters that didn't turn out. The introduction of mandatory voting maybe might not be required, if their leaders could offer them a positive vision of the future, that encourages them to go out and vote!
#NI already has different laws for voting than the rest of #GB. Maybe we should talk about that?

I am catching up on yesterday's #NI #LE23 results before I watch the rest today.
I am stunned at the #BlackMountain DEA in Belfast - Sinn Fein ran SEVEN candidates and got ALL of them returned! Plus they got all three in #GlengormleyUrban returned!
#NIpolitics has shifted...again
NI was created to have a permanent #Unionist majority! That is gone.....

Brexit changed everything - I am a small example of that. I was a #UUP voter, contented #unionist and had no strong feelings on the constitutional future of #ni
Now after Brexit, the last 7 years, I am happy to admit that I am no longer a Unionist, see no good future for #NI in the UK union. I am very much leaning towards voting for #UI but will need to see what the details are.
We need to learn the lessons of Brexit!
