A Break from Blogging

I was in Spain for three weeks. I had planned to blog while I was there. I didn't because my mac book pro was misbehaving when I tried to connect to three or for Wifi networks. Last night I tested it with another wifi network and I had similar issues. I think that there is an issue with the wifi device n the machine.

When I tested it using my mobile phone as an access point it behaved as expected, but that's when there is less than a meter separating the laptop from the wifi hotspot.

The other reason is a lack of inspiration. I find it challenging to find something to write about seven days for months in a row. Yesterday, or the day before I saw something celebrating people that create open source projects out of passion and pleasure, without them being noticed. There are blogs. vlogs, podcasts and more that also go without notice. I don't think this is negative.

I believe that by writing, talking, recording videos, taking pictures and more, and sharing them on our own sites. we are healthier than if we spent time scrolling pointlessly on Social Media.

Before writing this blog post I saw a Guardian headline about children in Australia feeling free without the pressure of social media. It's not social media, if you're posting in the hopes of becoming an influencer- For me, without being a social network, social media is worthless.

If no one responds to a tweek, a skeet, a toot, a photo, or other, on social media, then it makes sense to take a break from being creative, as I did. It also makes sense to pivot away from social media, and reverting to social networks.

Not Physical

When I was in Spain it rained, regularly. That's why I didn't cycle or things that would be worth writing about. If I had explored a new cycling route I could have written about that.

I did explore new walking routes during my time in Spain. I ran from one village to another, and found that Spain is as hilly, if not more than Switzerland. I found that I could run upwards for over half of one of my runs.

In Switzerland for steep inclunes you head to the vineyards. In Spain for steep inclines you just run between villages. One day I went for a walk when it was raining heavily. The road had become a river and I was walking against the current. The stream was just deep enough for it to be passable with normal shoes but I had to switch sides to avoid flooding my shoes.

In one case I had to cross a puddle that was just deep enough for water to trickle into my shoe. Luckily it didn't soak my socks.

Regular Rain

I suspect that if it had not rained for two or three days at a time, and if the weather had been good consistently, that I would have cycled more. I had seriously considered taking my bike to Spain, until I got knackered on a ride in Switzerland.

I'm glad I didn't. It would have been a big effort for no reason. I managed to do the two rides I often do when I'm there. If the weather had been better then I would have explored. I would have explored cycling routes, and groups to ride with.

And Finally

With luck, by taking this break from writing, I avoid the trap of writing more and more negative posts, from lack of inspiration.

A movie about an #StorageUnit facility that reminds me that #TVshow named #StorageWars.
The only real #horror on this movie is that there’s not good items in the units.

By far the most #uninspired horror movie with generic #PlotTwists and a #crappy ending that I’ve ever seen.

#Uninspired. My mind is just circling around how to get my #toddler to eat. She's barely been eating anything but cracker or sausage for the last 3 days. She's even rejecting
her favourite cheese. Milk. Cake. Rice. All the favourites. She just want cracker and meat. She will stuff herself with meat if I let her. So it's not lack of appetite. :( #parenting

Feeling totally #uninspired for anything. I have drafts and I don't feel like editing them. I have the essay and though the words flow, I don't feel like looking at my notes or rereading the whole thing right now to land in place, instead of word vomit. I'm starting to feel a little fire in regards to motivation on messing with the #homelab. Lately I have just felt that #homelab burnout for lack of a better word. #uninspired for sure. I just let myself just smolder and feel it.. ya know!

Maybe facing this #lxd issue that I'm facing is starting to spark! not sure!

@Alyzande I hear you. I actually want to quit my job altogether right now. I am feeling #uninspired.

@Mandaris I dunno. Should I? I did have nudgings* to get into #video. That's why I got started and tried to learn. Even got a gimbal for my smartphone and a wired lapel mic for semi-serious interview/recording. But really, I don't even know what I'm meant to be doing. People suggested I try #vlogging. But for what? For whom? Why? Because everyone's doing it? Perhaps if I had specific people to film for or talk to, versus just toss-it-out-there. #uninspired #clueless 🤷‍♀️
