Gabriel runs the Nihilistic - website. He must be a huge fan of 80s metal and 90s death metal. And on top of that, a top-notch underground metal fanatic.
When you land on the Nihilistic - website, your first impression is that an 80s fanzine has somehow survived into the present day. The design is old school, and the selection of bands and the topics covered on the website are equally old school.
This immediately appealed to me. You read reviews of bands with record deals or those with a DIY ethos. From the various musical shades of heavy metal or the very broad realm of extreme metal, Gabriel expertly presents the reader with a ton of great bands. Seine Elemente wie Growling, Riffs, düstere Atmosphäre und nihilistische Lyriks spielt die Band kompetent aus.
Was die Band so hörenswert macht [und live garantiert die Meute zerstört] sind die klug komponierten Songs.
Deren Groove, die geschickt eingesetzte Tempiwechsel, der Mut zu längeren Songs und innerhalb der Alben verschiedene musikalischer Atmosphären zu gestalten machen die Alben zu Earcatcher.
