Sometimes people tell us to "get a job" as if it's that simple.

There are multitudinous good reasons why we:
1. Consider our work for Vulpine Labs and the local community more important than any run of the mill "job".
2. Cannot seriously be expected to attain traditional employment.
3. Shun traditional models of pay in favour of Mutual Aid.

And we won't let capitalism grind us down.

No one I know is doing well right now.
Everyone is struggling and I have no power to do anything about anything.

I'm super depressed and I gave my guns to a friend to hold.

Everyone I know is struggling... There would be lots of times when my friends would struggle but there would always be a few of them that were thriving.

This is the first time where they are all struggling and there is no hope anywhere.

What should a "Portfolio" for a programmer look like? I have been asked three times in the last two weeks to provide a portfolio for computer programming or game development jobs. What should this look like? Why is 18 years experience not enough anymore? What exactly do recruiters look for on such things considering they have no clue about technical jobs in general? I have asked others and they feel this is a bizarre ask.

Meanwhile, orgs that actually need to hire resources can't represent themselves sufficiently - they're being drowned in a sea a false advertising.
