  1. Syndicate Sadists (1975) is a 1975 Umberto Lenzi poliziottesco that's really a lone wolf hero vigilante movie. Tomas Milian stars and he has a personal score to settle. There's a kidnapping. Not Lenzi's best but Milian's charisma caries it.

  2. Carroll Baker stars in Umberto Lenzi's 1969 proto-giallo Orgasmo. Baker is a rich widow who gets mixed up with a much younger brother and sister. Baker thinks she's in control. She isn't. Very stylish, lots of unhealthy eroticism and decadence.

  3. The Killer Is One of Thirteen (1973) is a Spanish giallo or rather proto-giallo, these films being stylish decadent erotic thrillers rather than gorefests. Sadly this one has the decadence but it's slow, very unsexy and not stylish enough.

  4. A Quiet Place To Kill (1970) is a superb stylish early-period Umberto Lenzi giallo. Lots of twisted emotional and erotic relationships that take deadly and unexpected turns. Carroll Baker is fantastic. I love pre-Argento giallos.

  5. So Sweet...So Perverse (1969), an Umberto Lenzi giallo starring Carroll Baker. With delightfully twisted nasty plot twists coming thick and fast. You can't take anybody in this movie at face value. Decadence, betrayal and murder. Great stuff.

  6. Umberto Lenzi's Seven Blood-Stained Orchids (1972) is sometimes seen as a very late krimi but it's more of a giallo. It was based on Cornell Woolrich’s novel Rendezvous in Black. It's fairly clued and it ticks the right giallo boxes.

  7. Spasmo is a 1974 giallo from Umberto Lenzi and it’s an odd one. Lenzi wanted to take the giallo in new directions, and he does so.

A dead girl on a beach, but things are not what they seem. And then there are the dolls.

People get killed but we’re not sure who they were or what they were up to.

    Weird but excellent movie.

  8. The English subs on #FracturedVision's #Bluray release of #UmbertoLenzi's #poliziesco FREE HAND FOR A TOUGH COP / IL TRUCIDO E LO SBIRRO (1976) make a damn fine attempt at capturing the #vernacular dialogue, evident partic. in #Monnezza's (#TomasMilian) speech. Late to the party w/this, but a bloody good release. #Eurocult #ItalianCinema
