As predicted I just removed all the stuff I added yesterday. And even a bit more. 🤷♂️
Should have packed tomorrow and not four days early. But I was bored!

Hallo Zusammen,

Hello everyone,
I'm new here on the mountains.social server, so here's a quick introduction: On the trail I go by Hiker7 – light pack, long miles is my thing. I spend a lot of time thinking about gear and MYOG (Make Your Own Gear), meaning sewing and building my own equipment.
Alongside that, I blog together with LaMa about outdoor topics, often from a political-philosophical angle, at https://www.ferals.eu#Introduction #Wandern #Hiking #Ultralight #UltralightHiking #MYOG #LongDistanceHiking #Langstrecke #Gear #Blogging #neuhier

I’m intrigued by this, though more as concept than as regards content: https://ultralight.school/
In #ultralighthiking, the concept denotes a fairly rigorous practice in which an austere loadout allows the hiker to go further with less effort, less wear on the body, and proportionately greater freedom to explore (or simply be in the moment, as the desire arises). I’m frankly jealous these folks thought to apply the #ultralight framing to pedagogy, because it’s what I’ve been trying to articulate

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nD_OuUS_BuE
Sehr geradliniger, ruhiger Typ. Kein Tamtam, kein Bullshit.

The realization that my back isn't what it used to be, multiple long planned trips, the existence of ultralight hiking gear (#ZPacks et al), and my credit card is ... risky. Very risky.
-
Hmmm the #ZPacks Arc Haul looks like it could be a massively lower weight upgrade to my Deuter Air Contact Pro, saving almost 3kg(!!!).
That ... might be worth the cost to me, tbh. My back isn't getting any better, and I've got at least 4 weeks where I'll be living out of it next year alone.
Does anyone know where those can be evaluated in #Germany? Any other contenders?

- Truly ultralight solar panels are hard to find, so I've shared the research on them in my blog, enjoy reading.

#ultralighthiking #truhiking #hiking #wandern
