Heads up VTubers. Ultraleap (makers of LeapMotion and StereoIR 170) are basically dead, Their IP got sold to patent trolls, their tech to a musical instrument manufacturer and half their staff have already been laid off.
Since there isn't really any viable alternative for VTuber hand tracking, if you were planning to buy one of these you probably should do so soon.
If you already have one, you should keep local copies of your preferred driver versions, and take steps to protect your USB port (especially if using chest mount)

Another challenge of our Hackathon was the attempt to track #FingerMovement automatically and synchronise it with the sonic data.
We wanted to test the current state of the art using the #Ultraleap Leap Motion Controller 2 for finger tracking.
And since neither accordion nor guitar stays relatively stable while being played, we also planned to track the movement of instruments with #ARTags (aka #AprilTags).

Today's chosen project was to write a tiny little gesture-control integration for #streaming.
Don't have cash on hand to pick up an #ultraleap or something similar at the moment for direct gesture capture, but #animaze does have a websocket-available API. One can use it to manage, among many other things, #VTuber "gear," emotes, one-shot animations, and repeating animations.
A little python later and it works with a button press.
