New filament and .4 nozzle. Bridging is worlds better, but still getting curling up of the unsupported edges. I think that’s a cooling thing?
The finish is obviously nicer with the smaller nozzle, but I think most of the stuff I’ll be printing will be fairly utilitarian, so I may switch back to the .8 once I understand this machine a little better.

Well, it was a merger.
Still no excuse for the broken redirect.

We had a Youmagine and an #Ultimaker account while it was still separate from a Thingiverse and before these where merged with #Makerbot accounts.
(stopping usage of Thingiverse in favor or Youmagine in the wake of the #Takerbot scandal. )

The new Ultimaker Factor 4 3D printer has a Print Process Report and I really like this! 3D printing is not as reliable as a subtractive manufacturing like CNC machining. So it's very useful to have a report at the end of the print showing additional data. It is truly missing in the FFF industry!

1) Bought a knockoff Olsson block for my Ultimaker 2

Realized when trying to fit it that the holes for the thermometer and heating element weren't fully drilled out. Brought out the dremel and got to work.

Broke it.

2) Bought a genuine Olsson block for my Ultimaker 2

Realized when looking at it that it looked exactly as the knockoff one I thought I broke after I had fixed it.

I bought my 3D printer in 2014 - meaning it's soon 10 years old. It's an #Ultimaker 2 and I think it was 2200 EUR back then.

It's made a lot of #Raspberry Pi cases.

Actually I think 90% of the total print jobs have been RPi cases.

I'm just going to say it. #Creality Slicer is crap. It just stopped working for me for no reason. It seems to be a hacked really old version of #Ultimaker #Cura. I switched to Cura 5.5.0 and my #3DPrinter seems to be working far better, albeit slower now.

Is it common for these slicers to take a dump and just stop working? Is there a better slicer out there?

Lifehack-Alarm: ABS-drucken mit einem Gerät, das einen nach oben offenen Bauraum hat.
Sicher nicht optimal, aber viel besser als ohne diese Papp-Lamellen. Bauraum-Temperatur bleibt konstanter und das Gerät muss auch weniger nachheizen.

I printed this foldable stand that fits the case for the #SteamDeck. I had no prior experience in 3D printing but we have an #Ultimaker 2+ at work and I just threw the model in and adjusted the settings that the maker gave. Had to use a file to widen the slots a little which did not work for the round pins, I already broke one, but it still works pretty well. The design for holding it together when disassembled is pretty clever in general. Will try out in a train tomorrow https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5497316
