The round tower, built around the 16th century, is fortified on three sides with buttresses. The impregnable tower impresses with its beauty. The Ostroh fortress is the only one decorated with magnificent attics, cornices and ornaments.
The walls are decorated with carved roses on shaped prongs. Acanthus branches above decorative hollow arches. All beauty is the result of the painstaking work of Italian masters https://karpaty.love/places-objects/zamky-ta-fortetsi-zahidnoi-ukrainy/62-ostrozkyi-zamok.html #Castle #UkraineArchitecture -
Ostroh Castle rises in a picturesque place - on a 20-meter hill, next to which the Viliya River flows. In ancient times, the fortress was surrounded by a deep moat filled with water. It was possible to get to the middle with the help of a suspension bridge. The architectural ensemble of the castle includes four buildings: the Epiphany Church-fortress, the Gate Tower, the Round and the Brick Towers. https://karpaty.love/places-objects/zamky-ta-fortetsi-zahidnoi-ukrainy/62-ostrozkyi-zamok.html #Castle #UkraineArchitecture

Each castle has its own unique history, but Duben Castle is legendary! One of the oldest: built in the 10th century. One of the most impregnable: the swamp around the castle. One of the richest in Europe: emperors, kings and hetmans often visited here. He belonged to wealthy families, kept chests filled with jewels and... was sold due to a card debt. Yes, it had a casino for a while. https://tamtour.com.ua/1528 #Castle #Retro #UkraineArchitecture

Starosilsky castle.
A defensive gallery for the castle garrison ran along the perimeter of the walls. A chapel, a palace and farm buildings were located in the castle yard. It is known from the documents of the 17th century that at that time the castle had 8 cannons, 13 howitzers, many rifles and melee weapons. https://castles.com.ua/stselo.html #Castle #Retro #UkraineArchitecture -
Starosilsky Castle had tall towers, 14-16 meters high. Walls 2 meters wide and 8 meters high. Swamps surrounded the outpost from all sides. there was a dam nearby. A drawbridge led across the moat to the castle from the south side, and in the 18th century. built a new entrance gate in the western wall. It did not survive. Like the western tower, the arsenal was dismantled into stones for foundations. https://castles.com.ua/stselo.html #Castle #Retro #UkraineArchitecture

Svirka Fortes
Unfortunately, the estate could not be saved during the Second World War. All property was looted by looters, and due to the partition of Poland, the castle was left without a single owner. The estate passed into collective ownership and became a school for future tractor drivers. Later, the estate became the House of Creativity of the Union of Architects. Thanks to which the castle does not turn into a final ruin. https://karpaty.love/places-objects/zamky-ta-fortetsi-zahidnoi-ukrainy/64-svirzkyi-zamok.html #Castle #UkraineArchitecture -
The Pidhoretsky brick castle in the French style was built for the Konetspol Hetman in 1635-1640, most likely by the French military engineer Guillaume le Wasser de Beauplan. The three-story palace was probably built by the royal architect Andrea Del Acqua. Pidhoretsky Castle is an architectural delicacy of the European level, a wonderful combination of a magnate's residence and a defensive fortress. https://castles.com.ua/gor.html #Castle #UkraineArchitecture

Although the Illina church is similar to a typical Bukovyna invention - wooden house churches, without domes and high spires, but they are there. All three rest on shallow spring-loaded arches cut into the walls. The middle one is higher than the side ones. However, it is not visible from the outside - we climb to the domes through a narrow passage in the wall up to the attic. This is the secret of the church. #Castle

Sokal town hall on old postcards. http://mapa.sokal.lviv.ua/?page=post&id=6

There is no building similar to the Sokal town hall in any settlement of Galicia. It was built in the 18th century.
The entrance to the town hall is decorated with a portico with four square columns, on which rests an original-shaped pediment. The monotonous lines of the roof are somewhat softened by skylights.
In 1898, an original town hall tower with a chime clock with four dials, over 1 m in diameter, was erected over the Sokal magistrate's house. https://krystynopol.info/miska-ratusha-u-sokali/ #UkraineArchitecture -
The burgomaster himself purchased a clock for the old Chortkiv town hall, having ordered it from Switzerland in the city of Berni, from the well-known company "Aosta".
The old Chortkiv Town Hall can be seen in the films "Riders", "Children of the Dungeon", "Guarneri Quartet", "Cherry Nights". And you can also see it in this photo. https://zbruc.eu/node/77232

The stone town hall in Kamianets-Podilskyi was built in the 30s of the 14th century. In 1754, after a fire, it was completely rebuilt. A rectangular tower was added to the town hall, which at first stood at a distance of 3 m, where two bells were installed in 1756, and a mechanical clock in 1884, which still works today.

The town hall in Belz, the former capital of the principality, is decorated with a baroque four-story tower. This is a building that was rebuilt in the interwar period from the bell tower of the Dominican monastery with cells of the 17th century. The tower of the town hall is decorated with an openwork lantern, and a clock was installed on its fourth floor in 1920. According to legend, his arrows were once made from Tatar arrows.

During the times of the Soviet Union, the premises of the town hall in Pomorany fell into disrepair and were destroyed. At the moment, caring citizens, with the support of local authorities, are carrying out works on the reconstruction of one of the most original buildings of this type in Ukraine.

After the restoration, the Armenian Church was revived in 1992 as the Hall of Organ and Chamber Music and as a temple, where regular services were resumed. The restored sculptures of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul were returned and installed at the entrance to the church.

Ivano-Frankivsk Town Hall is one of three buildings built in the constructivist style. Chortkivska and Svalyavska town halls were built in the same style. The modern building is built in such a way that from above it resembles the Polish military order Virtuti Militari, which was given to soldiers from Haller's army for the elimination of the ZUNR.

An interesting fact is that during the laying of the first stone in 1903, a paper capsule was placed in the foundation with information about the city's infrastructure, namely information about which part of it is built up, the number of buildings, what the residents of Mukachevo do, as well as the number of local residents.

Kolomyia town hall.
The Kolomyia Town Hall was built in the period from 1875 to 1877 on the site of an old wooden building of the 16th century, which burned down in 1865. The town hall is located rather unusually: on the corner of the avenue. There is no such thing in Ukraine anymore. Now the city executive committee works in this building
