Ukrainian agrarians drastically reduced purchasing of agricultural machinery due to the war. The situation is critical, especially with the import of tractors, combines, and seeding machinery. Destruction and occupation of Ukrainian agricultural machinery enterprises led to increased use of worn-out equipment, raising production costs and decreasing efficiency, potentially causing significant crop losses. Ukraine plans to build vegetable storehouses for 40,000 tons due to the destruction of storage facilities during the war. In 2023, 70% of the 20,000-ton capacity was for onions, and 15% each for carrots and potatoes. Orders for over 25,000 tons are already in for mostly onions.
