  1. @Geri A case in Manchester, where the accused is charged with "five counts of rape, four counts of assault by penetration etc", and has been freed on bail has been scheduled to be heard in 4th September 2028!
The judge said "It is with a heavy heart that I adjourn any trial for an amount of three years, but that's the state of play at the moment.
"It is a stark contrast to a position we would be in if this defendant was in custody, we would be trying the case in the summer of next year."
He told the defendant to stay in contact with his solicitors who will try to get an earlier trial date, should one become available.

  2. "#BloodySunday is the most notorious example of #stateViolence in the north — but it is not unique. Across the north of #Ireland, hundreds of families bereaved by the British state faced the same brick wall: no investigation, no disclosure, no accountability." - John Finucane

  3. CW: Murder IRL

I grew up mere yards from where this asshole murdered two teenage girls.

That being said I'm not sure I like the idea that a Minister could overrule the parole board and keep a person locked up indefinitely, regardless of their crimes

He's served his time. He's supposedly been 'rehabilitated'. The parole board deems him safe for release. It's time

Doesn't mean we like him, or that it diminishes what he did, but...
