A lot of discussion going on the Green's proposed menstrual leave policy.
The main question people ask if the women need to tell the company if they are on period or not.
When I was working in India, we had this policy (maybe still do?). The idea is to give women 3 additional leaves, and while the portal would show them as menstrual leave, neither the manager nor anyone up in the hierarchy will know what type of leave was taken. It will be shown as sick leave.
Of course, it would be possible to know the type if the ones programming it leaves some method, auditing usually solves it.
I know that the policy worked and improved the wellbeing of many people. Pain during menstrus is not normal, but not all reasons can be treated, the fatigue is real, and women are told it's normal and just go on with their life and talking about it is disgusting.
Cant we just make it a law. and stop debating every good policy green want to introduce?

CW: Mentions sex
Even if the United Kingdom Green Party wins the parliament majority they will not reverse the porn bans on face sitting strangulation and the upcoming ban on incest role play.
These are bans that were pushed by both the Conservative Party and the Labour Party, and even if the Green MP sentiment was to unban them I doubt any of them would dare table a motion to do so because kinks are taboo and most wouldn't talk about this failure because sex is taboo.
And why are sex and kinks taboo in this country? Largely due to christianity.
In that spirit the following phrases when used as insults/negative adjectives & adverbs contribute to sex negativity and uphold the taboo:
•Fuck and its derivatives like Go Fuck Yourself (Happily, I will)

•Dick and derivatives like Dickhead
•Pussy

Well, it feels like the tide is turning in the typical #ukpol way. You know, frustratingly slow.
The #ukgreenparty still has a lot of work to do to capture more votes. As a 51 year old trans woman activist, my age group can be incredibly frustrating to me, especially the middle class white male part of that population.
There is not a lot of actual animosity for the greens. The most I hear is ambiguous comments about how greens cause more road congestion with bike lanes and that sort. Oh and my favourite is people saying they are just "flakey". When I confront them, they revert back to the 20mph thing, 🤦♀️.
I'm going to the "Trans Mission: A Solidarity Concert" at Wembly OVO on 11 March. #zacpolanski is one of the key speakers. I am hoping he will show that he and the greens are capable of great things and are willing to make sacrifices for the change that this country truly needs. -
