I just submitted the three games I will run at #UKGamesExpo

I'm doing my usual thing of running the first session on Friday finishing at midnight, then crashing in a cheap hotel in the centre of Birmingham for a few hours before getting back to the NEC for the second game at 09.00 the next morning. This way I feel like I'm a character in a live-action Noir game.

Just received my copy of the new #TunnelsAndTrolls Alpha Quickstart rules from #Rebellion. I played the demo at #UKGamesExpo. Now I can have a go at running it for myself.

My favourite loot from #UKGamesExpo is the signed and numbered limited-edition hardback of "The Dungeon on Blood Island" by @ian_livingstone.

This book is a sequel to #DeathtrapDungeon, published on its 40th anniversary. I lost many lives to Baron Sukumvit's deadly maze as a teenager and the #FightingFantasy books were my gateway drug to #DungeonsAndDragons.

The hardback has a limited print run of 400 copies as a nod to the fact that Fighting Fantasy books always have 400 numbered sections.

Now the plans are revealed! At #UKGamesExpo this year, Rebellion had a demo of their planned next iteration of the game. I played the demo and liked it. (Caveat: T&T was not a game I played BitD so I cannot compare it to previous editions).

T&T fans can now join the Game Masters' Guild (looks like a public beta, https://updates.rebellion.com/p/7R56-AAI/tt-game-masters-guild) and a #crowdfunding campaign will be announced in the near future.

@lategamer I was at #UKGamesExpo this weekend and went to a seminar "Playing in the Bomb's Shadow" about cold-war era RPGs like Twilight 2000.

The speaker was Dr Malcolm Craig, Senior Lecturer in American History at Liverpool John Moore University. He has pivoted his research from cold war in general to the history of RPGs dealing with nuclear threat and post-apocalyptic scenarios. He is doing an oral history project, interviewing people who played Twilight 2000 BitD.
