According to their evidence presented to the #ukcovid19inquiry , all the members of SAGE were personally alarmed from about 14 March onwards, realised that the doubling time was shorter (3 days) than they had originally thought (5-7 days), and lockdown was urgently needed. So why when they got together as SAGE on the 16th and 18th March, did they all agree the doubling time was still 5-7 days and moderate social distancing was adequate?
Does this actually sound remotely credible to anyone?

Why is Vallance's evidence inconsistent with the SAGE minutes? He claims today that the data coming in over 14-15 March showed more rapid growth of the pandemic than previously thought, but on the 16th and again on the 18th, SAGE still said that the doubling time was 5-7 days. #ukcovid19inquiry
