Encouraging (and providing accessibly ways for) students to experience other cultures and ways of teaching & learning is a fantastic tool for broadening horizons and improving understanding & tolerance.
It was a travesty that #Brexit meant the end to the UK's involvement in #Erasmus and it's heartening to see this bridge being rebuilt.

Every time an University administrator says “we have”, “we remain strong” and so on, they mean: we know some of you will see your research and academic life devastated but there’s nothing we are willing to do.
The latest episode, today, in the latest admin email, in response to the UK government’s research councils pausing their funding schemes “temporarily” to “realign” their “strategic priorities” to foster growth. As if we all didn’t know they are short of money and desperate to grow the UK economy to pay the state debt and earn cookie points towards reelection.

#UkAcademia question: I see references to the "REF" a lot, including needing to publish papers that get a specific REF "rating" like 3* or 4*. Anyone knows what these stars mean and how do they decide how many stars your papers get?
