Bay Area indie wrestling fans — serious question:
Is UGWA really “est. May 1996” and the longest-running promotion in the region?
Official branding and recent anniversary posts say yes (Trevino was 13).
But the only contemporaneous evidence is a single October 12, 2000 Metro Silicon Valley article… when he was 17. It describes active backyard shows at that time. No mention of an established promotion already running for 4 years.
