    More experiments with Ucupaint on Blender. This time, I used a bunch of the automatic layers (Dust, Bevel Grayscale, Pointiness) to add realism to the edges, etc, with 0 effort. I also figured out how to add an Emission channel (super easy, just hit the "+" button in Channels) to make the lantern glow.

    Also, I only modelled 1/12th of the thing—then mirrored to make a side and geo nodes to wrap it on all 6 sides. Being lazy takes practice.

    Slightly more ambitious base model, not super happy about the topology of the rope wraps, but Ucupaint really makes it work so much better in the final render.
