Got my hands on a cheap Uchinaaguchi textbook and honestly i want to drink it in. Other than some classical Japanese I've only ever studied modern Japanese as far as Japonic languages go. And the similarities and divergence points between Uchinaaguchi and Japanese are making my brain explode in delight, just like when I'm poking at related Indo Endropean languages. #linguistics #endangeredlanguages #okinawan #uchinaaguchi #japanese
