Pulled my veteran DMM, a Voltcraft MXD-4660A, from the drawer to set up my workbench and gave it a second tour of duty with QtDMM on Ubuntu.

Everyone loves Docker but me.

My robot GoPi5Go-Dave ran #ROS2 Humble in a Docker container
( #Ubuntu22 was not available for Pi5 )

The #Pi5 #I2C died so I downgraded Dave to a Pi4 - no more Docker, no more two OS to update, no more hardware interface nightmares.

ROS 2 "Humble Dave 2" got on his dock, charged for 2.4 hrs, got off his dock, and promptly complained the "Future has no done attribute"

Isn't that the definition of the future?

Warum zickt eigentlich meine Bluetooth-Maus immer (meldet sich ab/verliert Kontakt)? Abstand zum Laptop ein knapper Meter. Maus rechts von mir, Laptop im Ständer vorne links von mir. Dazwischen ich und der Monitor (also nicht in der direkten Luftlinie zwischen Maus & Laptop).
Wenn ich Dongle statt Bluetooth benutze, ist es auch nicht besser. Wenn ich direkt am Laptop arbeite, ist es bisschen besser mit der Zickerei. Und ja, die Unterlage ist sauber und der Kontakt auch.

EDIT: Problem gelöst. Mit neuem Ladegerät.

Mein ein paar Monate alter (refurbished) #Thinkpad (#Ubuntu22) lässt sich ab und zu nicht mehr laden. Dann fahre ich ihn runter und warte einige Stunden/über Nacht (bei ausgestecktem Stromkabel). Danach lädt er wieder.
Diesmal reagiert er seit gestern Abend nicht mehr.
Was könnte da die Ursache sein und wie kann ich das beheben?

Hoping someone in the Fediverse can help, because I'm not sure which piece I'm not understanding correctly!

The goal here is to boot the Windows 10 partition on my laptop's SSD under #VirtualBox on the #Ubuntu22 #linux partition. The good news? It works! The bad news? The #efi / #grub piece isn't saving automatically and so I have to type it in every time... websearch has been difficult since I don't know what to ask...

I used these instructions (in German, but browser translation produces very usable English): https://the-digital-native.de/?p=366

The part I have to do every time is under "Set up GRUB". It all works (and boots!) except where it says, "The settings made are saved and Windows will start up automatically in the future" - every time I get the GRUB screen at boot, and I have to type in the pieces. Any clues for me? I'm somewhat conversant in GRUB, but it's not clear to me which of the many layers should be saving this...

Ich habe heute wegen eines nur für Windo vorhandenes Programm wine installiert (#ubuntu22). Das hat auf dem alten Rechner je nach Programm funktioniert. Beim neuen wird mir wine nirgends angezeigt.
