  6. I installed #UbuntuTouch on an old Moto Z2/Nash I've had sitting around. I had originally looked at postmarketOS, but it didn't have a lot of things working on the phone, and that port looks abandoned.

The Nash port for UT is also abandoned but it has most things working. I'm pretty impressed with it. Not enough to make it a daily driver, without Signal support especially. However there is an app for that in newer versions of UT.

I hope to make this part of my #homelab, though I haven't decided what to put on it yet.

Right now it's mainly convinced me that I'd like to have a #Linux phone for my daily driver at some point. That would go a long way to divesting me from big tech.

  11. Back in ~2016, I installed #UbuntuTouch on my Google Nexus 6 (2013). Some apps didn't run and there was poor documentation, so I abandoned the project.

This weekend, Ubuntu finally closed the no-documentation bug. Yes, ten years later! I must have been subscribed to the bug. My email got flooded by ex-Ubuntu engineers reminiscing about the project.

This caught the attention of the tech press!

Ich nutze seit einigen Monaten ein #VollaPhone X23. Auf SD-Karte ist #UbuntuTouch installiert. Vielleicht darüber ein paar Infos zu Sicherheit usw.

  20. @wild1145 There is now a working native app for #UBports #UbuntuTouch in the Open Store, called Mastodon Native. So that's one issue resolved.

I found it a little bit more fiddly (than on #UbuntuTouch) to get Waydroid working in #PostmarketOS but this wiki page was helpful:

    wiki.postmarketos.org/wiki/Way

After that, downloading the #fdroid apk and installing AuroraStore was plain sailing. So in short AuroraStore is already supported (in a way, i.e. in an Android container) in Linux on mobile devices.

-Don't use it on your main installation (it will update DataBase version)
-Create a backup of your DataBase if it's not your first instal·lation on device (under ~/.local/share/podcat.cibersheep/Databases)

    What is to test?

-Ús diari: afegir podcast, actualitzar, descarregar episodis, escoltar episodis no descarregats, etc.
