Just managed to install #VollaOS on my #VollaPhone which was bought with #ubtouch back in 2021-12. So great to have the choice to install, so far, 4 systems on it thanks to #ubports 🤩

@psyklax What's your OS? There's #Podbird on #UBtouch and #Kasts on #PlasmaMobile. Both are mobile optimized.

What about #MorphBrowser on #UBTouch? It's basically Chromium under the hood and the interface seems decent enough.

What distro *aren't* I using? 😜 Seriously though, most of the time I'm using #Mobian or #UBtouch. The former has working online accounts, which I need. The latter, GPU acceleration. I have a soft spot for #PlasmaMobile though as I love #KDE and the visual look of it, so I try to use that occasionally and report bugs (of which there are still many). I'm also keeping a close eye on #ManjaroARM.

The pine blog recently posted a video of a camera app on #UBtouch doing 30fps in the viewfinder... looks promising!

@msh So I finally got around to distro-hopping away from @ubports #UBTouch today. I have to say, my first impressions of Mobian are... I'm not that impressed? It seems vastly less fluid, apps take a long time to load, etc.

Not to disparage the work done here, I've even seen Anbox working on Mobian recently, but it does make me appreciate more the bare essentials that #UBTouch provides. I'll be keeping #UBTouch on my #Pinephone's eMMC, and I'll check in with Mobian on an SD card. 🤷‍♂️

I'm also hoping that we avoid recreating similar issues to how desktop #Gnome and #KDE apps look and interact differently in each other's desktop environments (but with even more environments eg #UBtouch,#Plasmo,#Posh etc).

There's so much good work being done. I'd love to see a unified ecosystem emerge made of diverse parties working together.

@ubports @PINE64 Wasn't expecting a Segmentation Fault in the GTK Go app... Maybe it's the funny PC address 0xffff... Will try again with a simple GTK program in C.

Zomg! Add mobile data to the list of things only working in #Mobian on my #Pinephone! I don't get any mobile / cellular data in #UBtouch or #neon with #PlasmaMobile , but it works in #Mobian. Ok, definitely starting to become a fan of this "just works" phone distro... Having just the one button call up both home screen apps and recently used is a nice touch, too.

Could a #PeerTube channel be set up to use its auto mirror feature on the #YouTube channel? I use #UBtouch to be tracked less by #Google, not more.
