I have tested the Open Apollo driver on my Apollo Twin X and Apollo 8P using CachyOS. It works!

The Twin comes up as Apollo Solo, but works. The Apollo 8P was supposed to not be supportet (Thunderbolt 2 related), but they made it work while we were in touch today.

I simply wouldn't have guessed anyone would engage in trying to reverse engineer a UAD driver for Linux, amazing!

No, po wyjęciu z pudełka było słabo. Ale okazało się, że xiaomi to popularna marka i jest sporo softu i dokumentacji do radzenia sobie z tym, jak producent krzywdzi te telefony bloat-em ;)

Wycinanie tego z #UAD to nie tylko obowiązek, ale i przyjemność 😎

@wnm210 No właśnie z #UAD ten proces wcale nie jest skomplikowany, robisz to z poziomu kompa przy podłączonym telefonie i możesz usunąć niechciane oprogramowanie, którego z telefonu nie odinstalujesz.

Polecam do tego Universal #Android Debloater. Można nim wywalić również apki Google, których niby się "nie da".

@wikiyu Widziałem poradniki jak odbierać tym aplikacjom uprawnienia z poziomu telefonu. Odinstalować je z telefonu ciężko a wielu się nie da, bo zablokowano taką opcję. Ja jednak wolę je wywalić, żeby nie siedziały w ram, nie żarły proca i baterii. To naprawdę proste z #UAD, po zainstalowaniu na pececie ADB (Android Debug Bridge), włączeniu USB Debug i podpięciu się kabelkiem USB z telefonem.

Wybieram kategorię OEM, potem Google i jadę z de-bloatem ;)

Oczywiście później instaluję fajne zamienniki z F-Droid czy innych źródeł.

Kupiłem kilka dni temu nowy telefon z Androidem. Xiaomi Redmi 9C NFC (3GB/64GB) w okazyjnej cenie na promocji w sieciówce (199zł).

Powiem Wam, że obecny #android (na tańszych telefonach) to jest jeden wielki słup reklamowy. Bez #debloat apek Xiaomi i Google się nie da. Nawet w "starej poczciwej" apce Muzyka są reklamy. W Wiadomościach google. W sprawdzaczu plików APK. W tapetach... Wszędzie...

@amadeus @itsfoss since I became a #bitwig user in the early pre-release days, I have tried twice to switch from mac OS to #Ubuntu. But I eventually relapsed both times since it felt I was spending more time troubleshooting than making music. But being forced to ditch 1000€ worth of perfectly working hardware (#MOTU 828 mk2, #UAD appolo quad...) because of "dropped #Firewire support" makes me absolutely mad. I'd love to get some tips from someone who went through this process successfully.

I like it cos it's very old-fashioned. Although it *is* a DAW, it's really reminds me of working with analogue tape / desks. I use the tape emulation and console inserts and the whole mix just glues together.

(Obviously, you can use those kind of inserts in any DAW but they feel more natural in Luna.)

Here's the rest of my signal chain.

The pedals are running into my own patch on the Axe-FX 3, out to my #UAD Apollo unit, and into #LUNA.

I'm only using #LUNA for this because it's great for low latency. I've got no plugins installed on any of the audio tracks that I'm recording as I go.

While I'm setting up the board and #UAD #LUNA updates itself, a bit about me:

I'm a home hobbyist player. I play at home for my personal enjoyment and sanity.

I'm not a professional musician. I don't work in the music industry at all.

If the Mediocre Guitar Player magazine actually existed, I'd make the front cover no problem.
