  1. Frente a una más que cuestionable cobertura de Luigi Mangione por medios como El Salto (que lo categoriza como 'asesino', o con artículos criticando su acción como mero individualismo), este artículo de Ill Will creo que es de diez:

"The political success of any particular tyrannicide is found not simply in whether a tyrant is killed. Rather, its success is found in whether it, first, reveals a common ground among the people who are isolated, confused, suspicious, and weakened by the oligarchs; and second, whether from this common ground a mass movement emerges that overturns the system that had enabled the late tyrant".

Most agree that the world would have been better off if Vegetaryan Hitler had been killed before he could cause any harm. Sometimes #tyrannicide is a necessity.

  3. The most beautiful assassinations of the last century No. 11: Rigoberto López Pérez vs. Anastasio Somoza García

On September 21, 1956, Nicaraguan poet Rigoberto #Pérez [de.wikipedia.org] admission to an election convention at the Casa de Obrero in León, where Anastasio Somoza García [en.wikipedia.org] was running for re-election. He disguised himself as a waiter, which allowed him to get close to the president and seriously injure him with five shots from his Smith & Wesson .38 & .32 Double Action [en.wikipedia.org]. The surrounding Guardias Nacionales [de.wikipedia.org] of Somoza's bodyguard shot López Pérez immediately afterwards. Shortly afterwards, Anastasio Somoza García was taken by military aircraft to the US military hospital Hospital Gorgas in the Panama Canal Zone, which was then still under US control, where he died eight days later. After the death of Anastasio Somoza García, his son Luís Somoza Debayle [de.wikipedia.org] succeeded him as president of Nicaragua.

Rigoberto López Pérez Letter from Rigoberto to his mother, San Salvador, September 4, 1956

    My dear mother:

Although you never knew it, I have always participated in all efforts to fight the disastrous regime of our country. Given that all efforts to make Nicaragua a free, unrestricted, and unblemished country again (or for the first time) have been unsuccessful, I have decided, even though my comrades-in-arms did not want to accept this, to initiate the beginning of the end of this tyranny myself. Should God will that I fail in my attempt, I do not want anyone to be held responsible, for it was entirely my decision. (...)

  19. The organizers of Luigi Mangione's legal fund on tyrannicide

'The current US laws around health care have been shaped, in no small part, by the power of the health insurance lobby. This industry lobby has the power to make or break the career of any politician. It sets the boundaries of what is considered “politically realistic” regarding health care and is therefore, like a tyrant, “beyond the reach of legal punishment or control.”'

  25. "The crucial point, however, is whether it is generally of much use to look at an act like that of Georg Elser from a moral philosophical perspective.

After all, even the ancient Greeks looked at the issue of tyrannicide philosophically from all sides, and later thinkers have repeatedly turned the problem back and forth in the light of new systems and new circumstances.

Nevertheless, there has never been a simple, time-independent answer.

If there is one point in the case of Georg Elser that really poses a probing question for all time, then it is first of all a completely different one: why did this man recognise and take seriously the injustice and violence around him so early and so precisely? Why did he draw the correct conclusion that even greater injustice and even worse violence would follow? And why did millions of others not do this?

Times, circumstances, deeds are always of a unique quality.
That is why they can never simply be a model for us.

But they can be an impulse to reflect on our own times and circumstances."
