I don't know if anyone is following the devastating happenings in Alaska, specifically Western Alaska that was hit by the remnants of Typhoon Halong over the weekend. Several villages were devastated, people have lost homes, villages are totally flooded and hundreds have been evacuated to Anchorage and other areas of the state. This is said to be the single largest evacuation in our state. This could not have come at a worse time as winter is coming and these villages are not on any road system so the impact is doubly horrific. One life has been lost; two remain missing. These villages are mostly Indigenous folk, our beloved brothers and sisters. Zero federal help, but our Army & Air National Guard has been OUTSTANDING!! Alaskans are strong, but we need help!
