  3. Its been 20 years since I lost my #trabant to an accident but i still miss its #twostroke glory. It was so much fun to drive and tinker with.

  6. Two German engineers. Two 50cc two-strokes. One and a half years riding the Australian Outback.

Bea & Helmut from Time to Ride on tackling remote tracks, living at 50cc, and the unexpected effect those little bikes had on the people they met.

    Strong, fun conversation.

  7. A prototype two-stroke internal combustion engine that uses a rotary exhaust valve eliminates the need for oil mixed with fuel, resulting in cleaner and more efficient combustion. It can therefore be run using natural gas, hydrogen, and biodiesel as well as gas.

  12. Outboard Engines: How to Improve Fuel Efficiency and Performance
There are three main types of outboard engines used in recreational boating: two-stroke, four-stroke, and electric. Each type has its advantages and disadvantages that boat owners should understand when choosing the right engine for their needs.

I hope I have the good tools to do it... 🤞

  14. This is the version of the Yamaha RD400 I'm talking about

I'm not going to tell you how fast the bike went, what I will tell you, is that I was wearing full PPE to make sure that I was protected in full, and before I even kicked the bike into stationary stroke, I not only read the manual, I took the 2-hour pre-ride check, to make sure that the bike was in proper condition

I never mess around with PPE, you shall see it when I talk about torque PPE and {cyclingp bikes in separate subject lines

I rode the RD400 with full PPE, all the way from the underwear, up to the motorcycle riding boots, a PPE set which cost at that time about 1,800 US dollars. It was a PPE set that was ready for the circuit, the racing circuit

The RD400 Yamaha bikes as sold by J.F.D Heanen in my country, were full circuit ready, yet were made for the roads.

Our versions literally looked like the race bikes which were just modified for The Streets.

At that Time I didn't shoot photographs in a manner that I could preserve them for the Digital Era, which means that I would have to digitize the negatives, which are in my analogue negative library. I would needs weeks to locate them.

  24. CW: Confessions of using an Internal Combustion Engine 😬

I don't know about the *most* reliable Yamaha bikes ever made, but I think I had their *least* reliable ones - and loved them. RD200, RD250 (a few), RD250LC. They were *awesome*, very expensive to run because I broke crankshaft bearings on them very frequently and horribly polluting. And noisy, but in a good way. But, hey, it was the 1980's.
