I have been on Mastodon “officially” for a couple years but only at this instance and active for a year. Time for an anniversary #introduction redux.

I’m a graphic and sometimes software designer in Kansas, USA, but I used to be a farmer and agronomist.

Where is everyone at in terms of social media platforms? I finally received my BlueSky invite code but it seems the exclusive club equals little interaction. Threads would be better if I could use a desktop version. Post and Spoutible are like my exercise equipment... dusty and unused. FB is fine for personal stuff. Mastodon seems to be one that has decent content, but I'm not a fan of the layout.

@laravista First point will most likely not really change. Twitter is kinda evil, and is becoming more evil by the day. Now with those stupid rate limits. You can achieve more spread of your content on fediverse by using hashtags. Also add mastodon relays to your instance.
Depending on their requirements they could also use kbin.

Tem algoritmo, uai: se você segue a pessoa , o mastodon mostra os posts dela ela na sua tela inicial. Se a pessoa está na mesma instância que você, ela aparece na sua TL local. Se a pessoa tá numa instância que a sua instância já viu, aparece na TL federada. Em ordem cronológica inversa.

I've just learned about https://bird.makeup/ which is a bridge to Twitter for those remaining people you miss here and it's great 😃 Now I don't have any reason to open Twitter website at all and it feels great.

Since the #twittermigation I am experiencing much more noise than signal on my mastodon accounts. The difference between a village and a city, the idea of instances being "communities" is supposed to fix this, but it's obviously not working, as this part of the #openweb scales. Ideas please.

I feel like all the people who I interacted with on a regular basis have disappeared, guess it's the twitter staying up effect and I was kinda excepting it. The more problems affecting Twitter, the more chances of people migrating to Mastodon. I think Mastodon is not ready for second wave of mass exodus from Twitter yet. @stux, @koyu, @puniko and I are waiting.

If you want followers, you should be willing to follow others also. Follow people who have the same field or interest as you. Don't be egoistic. In the end, we are here to share knowledge

▶️ Post majority content related to your domain of interest

▶️ Finally above all, a good content is important. Share knowledge that will be useful for others.

▶️ Use common hashtags

▶️ Interact with other uses in comment section. Don't be just a bot 😜
