  1. Craig Bellamy's proposed move to become Burnley's new manager has broken down.

46yo was set to leave his position with Wales.

    Burnley now exploring alternative candidates.

  2. Since the arrival of the current owners, Burnley's debt has shot up to £142m, all of which is owed to third parties. In fact, they had the fourth highest external dent in England in June 2025 #twitterclarets

  3. Much more detail in today's Burnley blog, including impact of promotion and relegation on revenue, parachute payments, player sales, wages, transfer spend, high interest payments, Espanyol acquisition, PSR and comparisons with other clubs #twitterclarets

  4. After a Premier League Independent Commission awarded Burnley £35m compensation related to Everton's breach of PSR, it's a good time to take a look at Burnley's finances - and why the money is so important to the Clarets #twitterclarets

  5. Scott Parker and Burnley had to part ways. Slightly strange timing now with four games remaining – poor financial accounts just out? Been drifting since November, arguably could have gone then. Fans had turned on Parker, although still grateful for last season’s promotion and the 100-point season. Needed better football and more of a connection with fans.

Burnley’s plight it’s not just down to Parker. James Trafford exit damaging, players not good enough, squad needs clear-out, then investment, smarter singings. Parker will doubtless pick up a decent job in the Championship – and do well. He’s just the type of manager that Burnley would have gone for having been relegated.

10 Premier League managers have left their jobs this season (+ five inc caretakers). 12 when Iraola and Glasner move, possibly 13 depending on Carrick. Managerial merry/miserygoround. #twitterclarets

'It has been an immense privilege to lead this great club over the past two years. I have enjoyed every moment of our journey together, but feel that now is the right time for both parties to move in a different direction." Scott Parker #twitterclarets

  7. HT: Burnley 0-0 Bournemouth

Iraola's side were on top of the first 15 minutes, but Burnley have grown into the game and been the better side.

Flemming a real presence up front, Hannibal impressive & Anthony a threat too. Just missing the goal.

  8. It's a super counter-attack from Fulham which begins with Sander Berge gliding forward after riding a challenge on the edge of his area.

He releases Smith Rowe who moves it on to Chukwueze. He finds Wilson and he curls a lovely finish into the corner.

  9. HT: Burnley 1-2 Fulham

Set piece defending has let Burnley down in the 1st half with both Fulham goals coming from them.

Ugochukwu with the equaliser. He & Broja have both had good chances. Leno has been excellent.

Entertaining game, but Burnley need a result.

  10. Second phase of a corner.

Wilson's run is not tracked. Controls the lofted pass to him perfectly and then he crosses to Bassey who nods in a free header from close range.

  17. Big result for Leeds United. And a huge 19 hours at the top of the Championship, potentially decisive. #twitterclarets win, #LUFC win, #SUFC lose. Leeds 88, Burnley 88, Blades 83. 4 rounds of games left. Leeds holding their nerve - and Burnley and Blades have to play each other.

  18. Bit tense towards end - and Sarmiento could have taken the ball down to the corner flag - but big result for #twitterclarets. Hannibal excellent. Cullen, Anthony too. More good games for Trafford and Esteve at Fortress Turf Moor. Norwich surely out of play-off picture.#BURNOR

  22. It feels infinitely more civilised here than on the cesspit tonight. I don't want to sit in that bar.

I’ll have to live without #twitterclarets, and I’ll just have to rely on uptheclarets.com for my transfer rumours, as I’ve deleted my account over there again.

  23. James Trafford and Rico Lewis elevated from Under-21s to #ENG seniors following withdrawal of Harry Maguire, Kyle Walker and Sam Johnstone through injury. Trafford’s first senior call-up. #twitterclarets #MCFC

  24. It’s also about consistency. VAR spent five-and-a-half minutes looking at Rodriguez offside yet next to nothing looking at a possible handball by Mepham. Kompany understandably frustrated, especially after VAR also cost #twitterclarets at Forest over a handball. #BOUBUR

  25. Much-needed win for #MUFC if nervy at times. Players stood up to be counted: Evans brought authority to defence, Bruno’s timing and technique for goal superb, Hannibal’s energy and pressing and Onana safer hands. #twitterclarets good to watch, esp Koleosho, but no finish #BURMUN
