there is a variety of news orgs coming to mastodon (e.g.: @BBC5Live) and many are already mirrored via (for example) press.coop (e.g.: @MotherJones),
and there are also good journalists here (e.g.: @timkmak, @w7voa )I miss many individual voices, but for general #news coverage we are quite ok here - nevertheless, it will never have the exciting frantic hype of #twitanic’s best days …

#riptwitter Can we get #Twitanic trending please? It has a triple meaning, because 'twit' just happens to be the first few letters of 'Twitter', Elon Musk is a 'twit' and he's sailing the site like a social media version of the Titanic.
