Been working at getting a visual of the #smoke from a prescribed #burn in northern Burnett County moving into the #TwinPorts region of the #Northland Monday afternoon.
How about the #radar picking up the smoke as it moved with the breeze from south to north?

Why has the #TwinPorts gotten hazy early this evening?
You can thank a prescribed #burn in the #Grantsburg area of northern Burnett County, as well as the southerly #breeze pushing the smoke into the #Duluth/Superior area.
It will move out this evening.

6:15 P.M. #RADAR UPDATE:
One #thunderstorms north of the #TwinPorts is the only chance the #Northland has in seeing any #weather conditions near strong or #severe #storm status this evening.
Small #hail and gusty #winds are likely from this, but odds are not the best at seeing it become severe.

7 P.M. #RADAR UPDATE:
A persistent few bands of #snow #showers continue to come across the #TwinPorts and northwest #Wisconsin.
Snow showers are also continuing for other locations further east into the #UpperPeninsula.

There is a bit of a surprised band of #lakeeffectnow moving over parts of the #TwinPorts region between #Duluth and #TwoHarbors.
Otherwise, the #forecast is on track with increasing #clouds and #cool conditions the rest of today.

WINTER STORM UPDATE:
The worst of what will likely be the strongest #storm system this #winter season has passed through the #Northland.
#Wind #gusts were impressive, especially in the #TwinPorts region.
#Snowfall totals are still coming in as #snow continues to fall through Thursday, so they will be adjusted.

The #blizzard came late last evening, and it stuck around all night.
A view from #Superior this morning, and it is worse in other parts of the #TwinPorts and northeast #Minnesota.
Case in point, the #NorthShore is closed off for now.

UPDATE: The #Wind #Advisory alerts have been expanded to cover a few more counties in the I-35 Corridor and most of the #TwinPorts region in the #Northland.
It will become #gusty this evening and tonight as #temperatures drop below #freezing.

No surprise from me that a #wind #advisory is in effect for the #TwinPorts, #IronRange and #I35 corridor regions of the #Northland for the next several hours.
Current wind #gusts are in the 30 to 50 mph range
The worst is on the #Blatnik Bridge. Gusts have surpassed 60 mph, and possibly as high as 76 mph!
Hold on tight out there!

SNOWFALL RECAP:
The #Northland saw one of its biggest widespread #snowfall this #winter season this past weekend.
Highest totals look to have occurred from #BayfieldPeninsula west through the #TwinPorts and into northern Aitkin County.
Why not the #Arrowhead? #Convergence zone that was forecast to take place there stayed just a bit farther east over #LakeSuperior. Sorry.

8:30 P.M. #RADAR UPDATE:
Scattered #snow #showers continue to move through the #Northland.
The heaviest snow has just past the #IronRange, and will pass through the #TwinPorts over the next hour, and eventually the #SouthShore later tonight.

A little taste of the #snow is coming along the #TwinPorts region early this afternoon.
An east #wind is bringing a band of #lakeeffect snow to this region.
Let's just say your neighborhood friendly #meteorologist and TV #weatherman wants to visually show you to be READY FOR SNOW #NORTHLAND!

WINDY NEXT STORM SYSTEM:
#Winds across the #Northland will be quite breezy as the #rain falls. They will be sustained at 15 to 25 mph.
#Gusts will be over 30 mph, while the #Arrowhead, #TwinPorts, and parts of the South Shore will see gusts of 40 to 50 mph.

Thursday was not a sunny day in the #TwinPorts and for many of us in the #Northland. At least we did enjoy the mild temperatures with highs in the 40s and the rain came to an end.

The #Northland will see plenty of #fog tonight and Monday morning as #warm, #moist air moves into the region with persistent #rain chances.
The fog will be #dense in spots, especially in the #TwinPorts and #North #Shore.
Plan accordingly for the morning #commute and be safe!

A line of #showers has been working its way through the #Northland, first impacting northwest #Wisconsin and the #UpperPeninsula.
It has reached the #TwinPorts, and will continue into the #Arrowhead over the next several hours.

A new line of #showers and #thunderstorms have formed in the I-35 corridor late this afternoon.
It will reach the #TwinPorts later this evening with a possible #gust of #wind and heavy #rain.
Northwest #Wisconsin will need to watch out for a similar threat going through the early overnight.

However, one line that is approaching the #TwinPorts could have #gusty #winds and small #hail.

Away from the #fog and lake cooled #TwinPorts, it is a very #warm and #muggy #weather day for the region.
These conditions are ideal for #showers and #thunderstorms to form and pass through along a front this afternoon and evening.
Be ready for likely #strong or #severe storms, with the greatest threats being high #winds, heavy #rain, and #hail.

Northwest #Wisconsin and the #UpperPeninsula will see the #snow transition to #rain starting Monday afternoon.

The #lakeeffect along the #NorthShore is done, but it is shifting to the #SouthShore. It will be arriving in the #TwinPorts by 3:30.
Expect a couple inches of #snow by this evening, along with #blowing and #drifting.
#Blizzard conditions are still expected for the #Bayfield #Peninsula through tonight, where the most snow and strongest #winds.

Most of us are enjoying a #dry and #seasonal #summer day with some sun filtering through the light clouds and smoky #haze.
However, some in the #IronRange are dealing with #showers and #thunderstorms as a front passes through. People west of the #TwinPorts and Highway 53 could possibly see rain through this evening.

#Showers and #thunderstorms continue to move to the east in the #Northland. They are staying below #severe level.
However, a few cells in the #IronRange and just west of the #TwinPorts could have gusty winds and small hail. Including this area circled on the #radar.
