#twinings — Public Fediverse posts

A sunny-looking teableau to contrast with the windy, chilly, cloudy day that was today.

Customer service at #Twinings never responded to my two emails about this, and I checked a few days ago and it was still broken, but I checked again today and it was magically fixed so I was able to order more tea without paying for shipping.
(For some reason the "standard shipping" option had been removed from the shipping page, so the only available option was UPS Ground which was not free, but the free option magically returned.)

#TechIsShitDispatch
I regularly place large orders of a particular variety of tea from the #Twinings website, because it's pretty much the only variety I drink and it's often hard to find in grocery stores.
Shipping is supposed to be free for orders over $50.
When I went to order tea several days ago, it said it was going to charge me $12 in shipping on a $54 order, after the "cart" page claimed shipping would be free.
I emailed their customer support. So far no response.

Well, crap. My #Twinings addiction is about to get even more expensive.

Seriously, in a backhanded way I think this is a good thing. Someone must have explained to him, using small words, that #invading #Greenland would be a very bad idea. He's not capable of true understanding, of course, but he's easily bullied. Like #bullies usually are.

Turns out #Twinings, famous for being the oldest UK #tea company (whose directors pushed for the initial legalisation of tea imports into Great Britain https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commutation_Act_1784 ) now makes their tea... In #Swarzędz, in the suburbs of #Poznań.

Has anyone noticed that #Twinings #EarlGrey #Tea is now weaker?

I steep my tea for the same 4 minutes and with this latest box I purchased my tea is much (much) weaker now!

#enshittification

@idle_automaton I've recently gotten back into loose-leaf #tea-drinking, and I've got the definite impression that #Twinings have messed with their old recipes, or changed their sources of supply, or both, as part of the cost-cutting and Brexit-dodging they seem to be engaged in. (A recent tin of their English Breakfast shows a corporate address in Poland.)

I'm having a mug here of British Brunch from Smith Teamaker, and it is quite good and hearty.
