So, apparently the real reason why #TwinGalaxies settled with #BillyMitchell is at least partially because... TG's #lawyers fucked up bad and were caught texting witnesses in the case. They snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.
Fortunately, the only real harm is that TG has to host an archive of the old heavily-cheated scoreboard. Still, TG should fire their lawyers for being this incompetent.

That lawsuit between Twin Galaxies and Billy Mitchel has come to a conclusion at long last, for those who don't know... Billy Mitchel (A self-proclaimed Gamer of the Century) is a cheater who cheated his hi-scores multiple times in Donkey Kong Arcade and was ultimately banned from the leader boards by Twin Galaxies because it was not done on original hardware as they used MAME a retro console emulator to cheat his hi-scores with modified hardware, and he tried to sue Twin Galaxies for defamation after they banned him from the leader boards. In the end he settled because he was going to lose his case regardless if he settled or not if it reached a jury trial.
