Thanks to everyone who followed my Christmas re-fight of the Battle of #Breitenfeld, especially those who favourited and boosted my posts. To those whose feeds I cluttered with too many photos of toy soldiers, apologies.
The #TwilightOfDivineRight rules gave a great period feel, and were ideal for a battle of this size. I enjoyed the way they handled the tactical flexibility of the Swedish Triangular Brigades, and the ponderous resilience of the Tercios, Cuirassiers, and Harquebusiers

The battle ends with the left-wing Tercios under Schoenburg collapsing in rout, but the Saxons still clinging on. The Imperial army, though unbroken, will retire under cover of darkness, thankful that Gustavus Adolphus is left with insufficient Horse to mount a meaningful pursuit. #Breitenfeld #ThirtyYearsWar #wargames #wargaming #6mm #TwilightOfDivineRight
