For a long time. I came in at the very beginning of the mass #Twexodus in early 2022*, and posted a couple helpful "How to #Fediverse" kind of toots, which got boosted to the moon, somehow.

Every now and then (like maybe once a year), I tap into the #neckbeard #zeitgeist and get boosted to the moon, like hundreds of boosts.

No idea, man. I have no idea why so many people follow me.

I just toot nerdy things that make me happy, for the most part. Occasionally #USPOL stuff, but honestly pretty rarely.

* I had actually joined #fedi in late 2018, tried it out for a bit, then quit. Then I joined again in 2019, and just had it on a very slow burn while I used other networks for my primary social stuff. I went all-in to the fediverse/#Mastodon in 2022.

Interesting outcome. Of course, 2022 was the mass #Twexodus. It's when I made the #fediverse my primary social network (soon only), to my delight, and the chagrin of rational people everywhere. XD

Well, *cough* the powers-that-be think handing out #BirdSite features like #QuoteTweets is much more important, even though they staunchly explained why those features should never and would never be on mastodon at the beginning of the #Twexodus. :P

Tweetback is interesting as it has the option of creating a federated network of archives - if we all used that standard, then twitter continues existing in a way (free of the ickyness)

test it with an inkognito tab.
this is bad for indiedev and artist.
This also breaks the preview on other platforms like discord or telegram.

Theres.life relatively had a lot of active users(67) at twexodus (Nov 2022) which dropped off by Jan 2023 (55 users) and has remained pretty constant since (range 55-59). https://fediverse.observer/theres.life .
I thought this might be a similar pattern for all of the fediverse so I checked out the largest instance mastodon.social. They also had a lot of active users at twexodus (239,322) which dropped off by Feb (145,245 users) but then has shown steady growth and has almost returned to twexodus levels (222,109 users by May) https://fediverse.observer/mastodon.social
note: in the above I've ignored Junes data, as we're only 10 days in.

I got disgusted by those two, and then the first big #Twexodus wave helped propel me on here, and now I have a solid number of friends and tons of interactions. :D

I don't use overhead lights, because im #neurodivergent and hate them.

Instead, I use #led light strips around my room that I can control through #alexa.

Mastodon ist nicht Twitter. Mastodon kann aber wie Twitter sein, nur besser.

The #twexodus’s resulting chaos, delays, and flashcrowd-like effect on #mastodon made me think of the first episodes of Battlestar Galactica where everyone’s trying to get on any ship they can find to escape the #Cylons, no-one knows what they’re doing, or if they can find their friends/family…

Here, however, the vibe is pretty hopeful, I’m happy to chill and let things settle down. The higher signal to noise ratio is *so* much nicer than #TheBirdPlace… I can feel my blood pressure coming down.

Last summer I wrote a blog post about #homemakingskills and #selfreliance and #selfsufficiency.

Back in 2020, my family bought a farm because the world was scary and nothing could be trusted… not in a doomsday way or anything, but I was allowed outside on the acreage where I wasn’t allowed outside elsewhere due to the virus.
