@classicalmusic For my followers who are classical music listeners I like this album. Schoenberg’s composition, Variations for Orchestra, Op. 31, almost a century old, is his first #TwelveTone composition for larger ensemble. I’m not dogmatic about musical ideologies and listen to a variety of genres. The Apple Classical writeup is a little over-the-top but gives you some idea of what’s on the album.

Listening to Schoenberg's 2nd, 3rd, 4th String Quartets (and modern SQs in general). This album has 3 and 4. Really enjoyed it. I was not familiar w/ the Fred Sherry String Quartet but the performance is excellent.

I started listening to Schoenberg a couple of years ago w/ the 11 CD boxed set conducted by Boulez which I found interesting but not compelling. Now I’m focusing on the String Quartets and really liking them.
