Jack Tame has a fantastic interview with Professor Marco te Brömmelstroet from the University of Amsterdam on how to make city streets better and do much more for societies than move people around in private cars.
The biggest threat to children's lives in western societies is car traffic. There are other options.

More Business Idiot waffle from Paul Henry, as Jack Tame runs rings around him on Q+A;
"Paul, Paul, you have been in broadcasting for 40 years. You thought enough about your expertise in broadcasting to sit on the board of the state broadcaster. You think enough about your understanding of politics that you're standing to be an MP ... you can't give us a solution?"

Jim Grenon's evil efforts to curtail free speech have cost him. He and Batchelor have been ordered to pay researcher Sanjana Hattotuwa $107,137 and TVNZ $125,818.65 for their failed defamation action.
Because of Grenon's dirty tactics, the judge awarded increased costs at 50% above standard scale.
"Mr Grenon may not have been a party in name, but it is clear from the evidence his shadow loomed large over the proceedings," Judge Clark said.
While that's pocket money to Grenon, he won't want to be associated with too many more attempts to pervert our court system. And hopefully more people are aware of the US billionaire's lack of ethics.

CW: NZ - Dirty Politics II - Maiki Sherman
The National Party has resorted to using Dirty Politics again, this time with Ani O'Brien playing the part of Cameron (Slug Juice) Slater.
Yes, TVNZ's political editor Maiki Sherman did call another reporter a 'faggot', in response to something he'd said to her. But it was it was 12 months ago during a National Party drinks session and she did apologise at the time.
With Luxon's leadership under pressure, National decided it was timely to flick the story to the terf O'Brien and another good journalist becomes the story then is lost.
Here's a whole bunch of reactions to Sherman being "hounded" into resigning. Most commentators are equally disgusted by TVNZ's decision to hang out their star reporter to dry with no obvious support in place.
I'm old enough to remember when TVNZ was still a public service broadcaster.

The character assassination of TVNZ political journalist Maiki Sherman;
https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/media-technology/594667/tvnz-political-editor-maiki-sherman-resigns
... reminds me of what happened to Metiria Turei, and to Benjamin Doyle. Old scuttlebutt dug up, and then a campaign if sustained harassment of the person, the institution they're part of, and in Metiria's case, her whānau.

Is anyone else out there fed up with the new TVNZ+ app? It’s broken on our Apple TV box. Works on our TV set (WebOS), but only in a very flakey way. We also get strange momentary dips in sound volume quite frequently. #tvnz

Have to say, I'm quite astounded at seeing #tvnz outsourced their new website/apps. If their leadership does not understand that their online platforms are core strategic assets for a media company in this age, that developing the ability to own those applications in house is key to their success, TVNZ needs new leadership.

Warning: Don’t accept the latest update of the TVNZ+ app. It’s appallingly bad, playing the wrong programme and not allowing you to resume where you stopped watching during your last session. #TVNZ

#TheIrisAffair #NZ #TVNZ I just finished this on TVNZ+. I liked it. Very cinematic. Mostly set in Sardinia and Rome - so picturesque. The Irish actress (Niamh Algar) is fabulous and Tom Hollander is likeable - I don't think he's ever played anyone like that before. :)

Q+A's Jack Tame has a good interview with Rewiring Aotearoa’s Mike Casey on the need to quickly electrify NZ’s machines to run on New Zealand-made energy and ramp up rooftop solar. I like the way he pitches this as the clearly obvious and sensible solution, which it clearly and obviously is.
