Hmmm. Apparently #HomeAssistant can control some #Tuya devices locally.

But I was "clever" and put all of my #IoT devices on an isolated WiFi network so they can't reach anything else on my LAN.

Like, for example, the server hosting HomeAssistant…

It is functionally impossible to sensibly design a home network for IoT devices - as I wrote a decade ago.

But at least it issues the hold alert after a few secs. Another new switch that has arrived doesn't send "hold" until you release the switch. So basically only good for single and doube-click :-( #Zigbee #Tuya

Как я встретил ESP-Claw? Очень просто: не на Хабре, не в Google, а в одном дружном чатике, куда ссылку запостил коллега по несчастью. Не могу сказать, что именно меня зацепило, но я решил - почему бы и нет. Если в двух словах, то оно того стоило: попутно я освоил подключение к LLM по API-ключу, разобрался с OpenRouter, позаботился об экзотической лягушке, убедил ИИ написать Arduino-скетч для управления Tuya-совместимыми выключателями и розетками и заодно взгромоздил на десктоп Open WebUI - чтобы у меня был собственный ИИ-чатбот, с блекджеком и без облака. Это - описание опыта, а не выверенное до последней запятой руководство.

Wir sind auf dem Weg zurück von der #Intersolar nach Freiburg.

Am ersten Tag waren wir auf der Plug-in-Conference des Bundesverband #Steckersolar. Schwerpunkt war die Internationalisierung: immer mehr Länder legalisieren Steckersolar und wir haben uns auch spannende Forschung angehört.

Zweiter Tag waren wir auf der Messe bei den Herstellern. Die großen Steckerspeicher Hersteller setzten auf große Steckerspeicher: 5000 Watt Solareingang und 5 kWh Speicher, mal ein bissle mehr und mal weniger.

Zudem drängen auf den Steckerspeicher Markt mehr und mehr Hersteller, teils auch von großen Müttern wie #Tuya mit „conow“ oder #Senec Italia mit einem Speicher den sie nur in Italien verkaufen 🤷.

Hace 4 años me hice con el ventilador de techo de mi dormitorio. De la marca Create.
En su momento lo cogí sin Wi-Fi.
Ahora me sale la oportunidad de ponerle Wi-Fi, pero después de estar investigando he visto que el módulo es #Tuya y que no tiene integración local sencilla ni amigable.
Así que le dan por saco y lo integro con #HomeAssistant mediante un emisor de radiofrecuencia. Es verdad que pierdo el estado del dispositivo, pero no es algo que me preocupe.
¿Alguna opinión con este tema?

Und ja, das Kapitel ist für mich ziemlich unverständlich. Klingel und Gong scheint wild gemischt verwendet zu werden.

Wobei, für 15.99 CHF ist das Teil schon ziemlich gut. Mal sehen ob man da #ZephyrRTOS drauf kriegt.

There is lots of hype around the 299 € #LIDL offer for a rebranded #Marstek B2500 battery that you can add to an existing #pluginsolar sytem.

their main critique is, that it will only work with a #LIDL branded version of the #tuya app, which does not seem to be able to do load management. Meaning it's not so easy to tell the battery to only give as much energy as the house needs.

Но стоимость устройств начинается от 3000 руб, а если стояки с подачей холодной и горячей воды разнесены далеко, то придётся покупать 2 датчика и бюджет проекта заметно вырастает. Поэтому в рамках данной статьи расскажу, как реализовать счетчик расхода воды на базе дешевого датчика Tuya (около 450 руб.) и настроить отображение данных в Home Assistant. Today I’ve finally gathered myself and installed the long awaited kitchen worktop sockets. #Zigbee of course, #BSeed ones, I guess #Tuya compatible, but I obviously run them via #HomeAssistant without any issues.

It was a bit complicated, because it’s 2 triples with a bit tight cables, but in the end it was a success. I can now reuse #Insplening outlets somewhere else, where they won’t stand out that much.

TL;DR

Initial test of cheap Tuya water leak sensors (zigbee) – all connected successfully, all detected water under a second.

Their longevity, battery duration and stability in zigbee mesh remains to be seen.

Why

Dishwasher’s aquastop valve died and we had a small flood in the kitchen. Then I ordered not one, but five water leak detection sensors. For other critical rooms, of course.

Sensors

The two types of sensors I ordered (Tuya brand) were recognised in Home Assistant / Z2M as:

• Red ones: OUI: Telink Semiconductor (Taipei) Co. Ltd., Zigbee Model TS0207 _TZ3000_bfopm9ga

• White ones: OUI: Telink Semiconductor (Taipei) Co. Ltd., Zigbee Model ZG-222Z HOBEIAN

Both are powered by CR2032 battery. The batteries were included, but one was dead and I had to replace it. Red ones had plastic strip around the battery to prevent emptying. Batteries did not have it, and batteries had an initial state of charge between 5% – 80%.

Other differences?

• Red ones have sound alarm built-in (although very quiet), white ones don’t have it
• white ones have sensor also on top, red ones don’t have it

Pairing in Z2M

There were no issues with pairing to the zigbee network. I held the upper button for 5 seconds, enabled ‘Permit join’ in Home Assistant / Zigbee2MQTT add-on and devices were recognised and added to the mesh in a few seconds. I only rename them using my system: Brand function number (room), e. g. Tuya water 01 (kitchen).

After pairing, the following entities were exposed (for both types of sensors):

• Sensors:
  • moisture
  • tamper (not sure what it means – does it turn on if i dissasemble it? open the battery cover?)
• Diagnostics:
  • battery state
  • battery %
  • last seen (disabled by default), I enabled it
  • link quality (disabled by default)

After pairing, I had to press the top button once, to enable communication with z2m mesh. Before that, only last seen and link quality entities were shown, others not.

Physical placement

I’ve put sensors:

1. under the dishwasher / kitchen sink
2. under the washing machine
3. under the aquarium cabinet
4. under the roof window – attic (it already leaked twice)
5. boiler room – in the middle of the water boiler and hot water buffer, right under all central heating valves and pumps

Organization in HA

I’ve created a separate dashboard to show all water leakage sensors (using plain ‘entities’ card for each room):

At the moment I don’t have a better idea how to organise them. I’ve also added them to ‘areas’ which represent rooms.

When I was at it, I also classified ‘areas’ in appropriate ‘floors’.

Automations – notifications

I’ve set up automations that send a notification to family phones, tablet and TV if the flood is detected.

TODO

Replace the main water valve with motorized one and create automation that shuts it off in case of water leakage.

Ich habe gestern einfach mal auf Gut Glück HomeAssistant installiert um zu sehen, wie weit ich da komme ohne meine bestehende Smart Life Umgebung auseinander zu rupfen.
Positiv: Ich konnte die bestehenden Geräte per Tuya-Integration direkt einbetten.
Negativ: Es klappt kaum etwas wie es soll.

Как маленькая протечка воды превратилась в 50 устройств умного дома

Около пяти лет назад у меня в квартире произошла небольшая протечка воды. Именно она стала отправной точкой: я понял, что нужны хотя бы простейшие датчики протечки и последующие уведомления, чтобы избежать подобных ситуаций в будущем. Ремонт в квартире был уже давно завершён, основные условия были - минимальные, беспроводные и более-менее надёжные датчики протечки воды. Решение оказалось простым - экосистема Tuya и протокол Zigbee. Я купил Zigbee-хаб и несколько датчиков протечки на AliExpress. Устройства стоили копейки, настроить их было легко, и они выполняли свою функцию.

@emill1984 @cichy1173 Różne sieci bezprzewodowe można mieć. Nie wszystkie zależą od routera. Konkretnie dobry #Mesh moze się obyć bez choć wiele ma #Coordinator np #ZigBee a i kabelek niekiedy ma sens ale raczej nie pod #Ethernet bo to nadal prowadzi do TCP z jego zależnością od DHCP w routerze. Właśnie mi jakieś gniazdo #Tuya zalogowane do #WiFi przestało reagować w #HomeAssistant pewnie z braku sieci bo reszta dziala. Gdyby to działało na #LoRa to mogłoby bez routera komunikować się...

Ich denke, das sie dadurch bei kurzzeitiger nicht-Verfügbarkeit des Coordinators sofort ausgeschaltet haben. Und da in dem Netz auch die äußerst redebedürftigen #Tuya-Devices ihren Dienst tun, passiert es hin und wieder, dass der Coordinator überlastet ist und dementsprechend dieser Zustand eintritt.

Ich habe jetzt das Binding entfernt und schaue mal, ob es das Problem löst.

Hat jemand hier zufällig Erfahrung mit den Zwischensteckern von #Tuya? Die gibt es ja schon relativ günstig. Ich möchte sie primär zur Verbrauchsmessung einsetzen, nicht um etwas zu schalten.

1) has anyone managed to get #Cozytouch #Atlantic water heater automated? Can anyone share an example on automatically turning the heater on and off based on some trigger?

2) I added my robot vacuum cleaner via #Tuya integration and it works. But there is no apartment map and I can’t find a way to add it to HA. How can I send the robot to clean a living room for example using just HA?

3) can I use Siri on Apple devices to control HA? How?

Випадково придбав дуже корисний розумний пристрій. Купляв його просто як термометр з WiFi, який працює з #Tuya. Виявилось, що він має інфрачервоний порт та може керувати іншими пристроями: кондиціонер, телевізор, проектор, тощо. Тепер можна з його допомогою налаштувати автоматизацію підтримки потрібної температури вночі кондиціонером літом.
