Gel tezkere gel tezkere bitsin bu gurbet

Esmeray deyince Türkün aklına bu gelir!
TRT'nin yüzünden bâzı şarkıcılardan gına gelmişti!
Sürekli sâdece aynı şarkılarını çalarlardı!
Çünkü müziğe sansür vardı!
TRT her müziği çalmazdı!
Aynı şarkıcının başka bir şarkısına saçma sebeplerle bir kusur bulur asla çalmazdı!

Un poco de música turca de los 70s para amenizar la tarde.
just one Turkish track by Isaac ben Solomon Algazi (1882–1964), a Sephardic chazzan born in Izmir who later lived in France and Uruguay. recorded in Istanbul in 1909.

this one is beautiful too, if google is being accurate it's "The song of the crane" by Macedonian-born composer Dramalı Hasan Hasgüler, recorded in #Istanbul in 1931

There's some cool stuff in this new batch. Nothing klezmer, but a good amount of Greek/Turkish/Ottoman music mixed in with the thousands of American discs.
As someone interested in early recording industry history, I love this project. still holding out hope that they eventually release klezmer test pressings that no one has ever heard in 100 years

Buray has released a series of EPs featuring high-quality Anatolian folk songs titled SEYİR. The songs are all recorded with the accompaniment of the Bağlama (Saz), which sounds truly perfect. I strongly suggest that you take some time to listen to these EPs.
My tribute to Omar Souleyman and the Syrian wedding-party sound that he brought new life and energy to. Driving dabke & heavy riffs come together nicely! From Eastern Power, my album blending heavy rock and metal with Eastern folk traditions.

Why is old turkish music so gooood
Just discovered my new favorite compilation of 2025 this week (so far).
Women in #Turkish Electronic #Music
It's a great mix of Dark Ambient, Musique concrète, electronica. Good stuff, Maynard!
Looking forward to diving into these artist's catalogs a bit deeper.
(OK, it was originally released in 2017; but, I'm a bit slow on the uptake and my musical backlog is looooong(~10k+ tracks?).)

Altın Gün - Rakıya Su Katamam
(lyrics)
Rakıya su katamam, rakıya su katamam
Yar sensiz yatamam, ben sensiz yatamam
Alıştım yar cilvene, alıştım yar cilvene
Ben sensiz yapamam, ben sensiz yapamam
Güzel sevmek huyumdur, güzel sevmek huyumdur
Aşkın yolu, yolumdur
Kız ben sana kanmışım, yar ben sana yanmışım
Sevmek benim huyumdur, sevmek benim huyumdur
Hadi kızım oyna oyna da keyfimize bakalım
Şu üç günlük dünyada hayatı yaşayalım
Hadi gülüm oyna oyna da neşemizi bulalım
Çivi çiviyi sökermiş içelim ayılalım
Rakıya su katamam, rakıya su katamam
Yar sensiz yatamam, ben sensiz yatamam14
Alıştım yar cilvene, alıştım yar cilvene
Ben sensiz yapamam, ben sensiz yapamam
Hadi kızım oyna oyna da keyfimize bakalım
Şu üç günlük dünyada hayatı yaşayalım
Hadi gülüm oyna oyna da neşemizi bulalım
Çivi çiviyi sökermiş içelim ayılalım
