I've been figuring out Turkish coffee lately. I think I've nearly got the technique down now. Its a very pleasant style with lots of flavor and minimal prep and cleanup. The flavor is some where between French press and espresso, though not quite. And it gave me an excuse for a new coffee toy!

IT SLAPS!!200mL Cezve
150mL cold filtered water
1 pack Splenda or similar (I'm diabetic)
5-10 drops Anise extract
20 drops VanillaStir
1/2 tsp Spice Mix (below)
4 HEAPING tsp ground Turkish CoffeeStir
Brew on MedLow until foam reaches top
scoop foam into cupReturn until boil
pour half in cupReheat and pour the rest
try to leave behind the sludgeLet cool for 2min.
SipSPICE MIX - by parts - ground

2 Ginger
4 Cardamom

Took forever to grind for some home brew #turkishcoffee ... but I just made my first cup. Well, technically two cups worth ;)
And oh man! Gave a good foam that sadly didn't last, but not really bitter at all.
I won't make it often for fear of grinding to a flare up of tennis elbow, LOL.
But, I now might have spoiled myself :)
