    A little Dutchy update
Wow, it’s been a while, hasn’t it? The last time I wrote anything here was the week of Eurovision, to be exact, it was the day of the Second Semi final of Eurovision 2024, and I was still very excited about the Dutch entry, it all sounded so amazing, like we were going to do really well. And we did well, that semi final performance was amazing. But after that, things unraveled, and Joost was disqualified from participating in the grand final. Well, and I only read today that apparently the Netherlands ended second in its semi final, so oh my… I think we were cheated. It’s really hard to say, was the disqualification fair? I don’t think so, I think it was way over the top. But that of course is no reason for writing an update post here.I did just want to check in for a bit, tell you how my life has been, and with a little bit of luck I will actually get this posted as well.

So, the Tulip Garden has been strong. During May I have been doing some interesting Eurovision features, such as returning artists, and Eurovision from 1975, 1989 and 1996, and it was really interesting to rediscover songs, learn new ones, and just get a general sense of how Eurovision has been evolving. I have been watching Eurovision on and off since 1989, but back in the day we never had a video recorder, and even if we would have, I don’t think we ever recorded eurovision. The internet and things like that were also not a thing back then, so although I vaguely remembered a few details, a lot of that was mixed up. I did remember 1989 was known for the youngest artists to feature in Eurovision to date, and a new rule coming in with a minimal age. It was also fun to bring the Titles Puzzle back for a month.
June started with my friends Alicey and Phil visiting me, and we had a great time together. We went to a coffee place nearby, and had a great time there, and we just spent time in my apartment and had good chats. One evening we also had home-made pizza, and it was delicious. The rest of the month has been quite uneventful, but that week with my friends was really a highlight.
So, now July is here, and this Sunday the 7th, I’ve been catching up on podcasts and trying out new apps for the first time, such as the Drafts app, which I am testing now to write this little update.
Well, for the rest, my life has been quite ordinary, and I have not gotten any further with my plans to renew my website. I guess I need to get into that mood again some day. But I am sure it will happen.
Well, that’s a bit of a random update, with some things that just happen to come into my head, and I hope you are doing well. Have a lovely day!
