They found companionship and caring for the dog linked to healthier coping, while friction and viewing the dog as a replacement for people tied to less healthy strategies.

@CatDragon This is why I’m having a rough go of it today. It’s one of those days when it’s all too much. What’s getting to me is there are still people out there, even now, who can’t bring themselves to care enough to pay attention. Last night a friend of ours came over for dinner, and in the course of conversation my wife and I discovered they had no idea who #RFK Junior was. Sit with that for a moment. And I know they’re not alone. There are plenty of people who are actually proud of their ignorance, like that makes them smarter than everyone else or something. So as everything goes down the tubes, my depression is weighing heavy on my heart. And, of course, it didn’t have to be this way, but hey, look on the bright side, at least the evil baby killer lost. I’m really sorry for being such a downer. I am extremely happy that the #Tufts graduate student is out of #ICE custody. Score at least one for the good people.
