For years we have witnessed the neglect of the TU Berlin buildings. Lifts that get stuck, water dripping from the ceiling, and now the icing on the cake:
The main building has had to be closed due to fire safety risks. It is expected that this will not be limited to the H building, and lectures will have to take place online.
Instead of investing funds in building maintenance or staff wages, Germany is rearming and prefers to invest in military research. Instead of renovation, the buildings are to be privatised and only part of them leased back to the university.
