Last night's shitshow almost convinced me to move entirely to moderated follow requests and followers-only posting.

I'm really sick of fighting entitled, privileged, men¹ who don't understand consent (especially when interacting with vulnerable communities).

But then I reread one of Evan's replies which could be (in my words) summed up as "if you don't want to be violated, hide", and, after some crying in the plaza at 5AM, I decided *fuck* that noise. I don't hide.

Well-behaved enbies rarely make history and all.

...but... I realized that I need to step away here and there for my own mental health (which I often put secondary to everyone else's).

So, with that, I'm putting my phone down for a bit; probably not that long, but for a bit.

Every Sunday I look back at the preceding week in kpop and pick out a music video or performance that I have particularly liked. This week I have chosen Loossemble – TTYL.

Easily my favourite of all their title tracks so far!

For some, the vocal processing in TTYL will be evidence that Kpop is “overproduced”, “manufactured”, and “inauthentic”. These critics miss the mark, though, because they assume the aesthetic standards associated with western singer songwriters or with some rock music are of universal applicability when discussing any popular music. I disagree.
